Database management, from design to daily running

We design, set up, tune and look after your databases, so the systems your business runs on are fast, backed up and watched.

What we take on

  • Design and setupSchemas, indexes and storage planned around how your applications read and write data.
  • Performance tuningSlow queries, indexes and configuration reviewed and fixed, so screens and reports stop waiting.
  • Backups and recoveryBackup schedules, retention and test restores, so you know you can recover and how long it takes.
  • Security and accessUser roles, permissions, encryption settings and patches kept in order on every database.
  • Monitoring and maintenanceHealth checks, alerts and routine maintenance, so problems are found early.
  • Outsourced DBA supportOur team administers your databases day to day, alongside or in place of an in-house DBA.

Your databases, looked after by the team that runs your pipelines and dashboards.

Where this fits in your stack

Analyca covers the whole path from database to decision. Database Management is the Store layer, and the same team covers the other four.

When companies call us about database management

  • You notice: Our database slows down or fails right when we need it most.

What we do: We find the queries, indexes and settings behind the slowdowns, fix them, and set up monitoring so issues show early.

How an engagement starts

You see a written plan with scope, timeline and team before any work begins.

Two people reviewing printed charts and a tablet at a desk covered in reports
  1. Step 1: Talk

A call with our engineers about your systems, your data and the decisions you need it for.

  2. Step 2: Assess

We review your current setup and send a written plan with scope, timeline and team.

For database work, that review covers your database versions and sizing, backup and recovery setup, slow queries, access rights and monitoring.

  3. Step 3: Build and run

We deliver the work with documentation, and can stay on to run and support it.

Common questions

Something else on your mind? Email info@analyca.in or book a consultation.

Which databases do you work with?
Relational and NoSQL databases, on premises or in the cloud. The work can involve PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB and Redis, and managed services such as Amazon RDS and Azure SQL. Tell us what you run and we will say plainly whether it is a fit.
Can you take over from our current team or vendor?
Yes. We start by documenting your current setup, access and backups, then agree a handover plan with your team or the outgoing vendor, so nothing is left without an owner.
Do you only fix problems, or can you run our databases on an ongoing basis?
Both. Some companies bring us in for a defined piece of work, such as tuning or a migration. Others keep us on as their outsourced DBA team. The written plan after the assessment sets out which, and what it covers.
How do we start working together on database management?
With a call between you and our engineers about your systems and what you need. We then review your current setup and send a written plan with scope, timeline and team. Work starts once you have agreed the plan.
